‘If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.’ (Romans 12:6)
This principle applies to all gifts, both natural and supernatural. Whatever our gifts are, let’s use them by faith!
I am told that the bumble bee’s wings are so constructed that it is impossible for it to fly. According to the laws of aerodynamics, the wing span is simply too small for the fuselage.
Fortunately for the bee, it has never studied aerodynamics and doesn’t know it can’t fly. So it flies anyway!
Sometimes we know too much for our own good. It’s time to realise that the impossible is possible more often than we think.
We need see that in Christ we can do far more than we ever thought we could do. It is probably true to say that many believers have never really tapped into the potential that is available in Christ. There are vast opportunities before us yet.
It is easy for us to settle down to a comfortable level of living where we are moderately successful as Christians or as ministers of the gospel and where we simply don’t see new opportunities or challenges. We opt for the status quo.
